OpenAI

Use an OpenAI API key for in-app PlayOn agents.

  • Minimum: gpt-4.1-mini
  • Recommended: gpt-4.1

Get a key

  1. Sign in at platform.openai.com.
  2. Create an API key under API keys.
  3. Ensure the project has billing / credits if required by OpenAI.

Connect in PlayOn

  1. Settings → In-app agents → OpenAI.
  2. Paste the API key.
  3. Pick gpt-4.1 (recommended) or gpt-4.1-mini (minimum).
  4. Save and test with a chat that lists servers or searches skills.

Notes

  • PlayOn uses the standard OpenAI-compatible chat API.
  • Prefer models with reliable tool calling for install workflows.
