For players

RSVP on the LAN hub, open the player panel, and join the game.

PlayOn splits two jobs: the host runs the control plane and talks to agents; players RSVP and join.

RSVP on the LAN hub

If your host shared a playon.games event link (/e/…):

  1. Open the link and sign in with Discord.
  2. Reserve a free spot (or follow the host’s paid ticket link if they set one).
  3. Check seating / tournament tools on the event page if the host enabled them.

The hub is for invites and reservations. Game join details come from the host’s PlayOn player panel.

Open the player panel

Your host will send a URL that ends in /play — often http://playon.local/play or https://<handle>.playon.games/play on the LAN. That page shows:

  • Join address / port (LAN-facing on the host’s PlayOn box — even if the game process runs on a cloud VPS)
  • Any client downloads or config the skill published
  • Short guides for that game

You should not need the admin UI, an API key, or the VPS public IP.

Join the game

  1. Install or launch the game client as the panel describes.
  2. Copy the address from the panel and connect.
  3. If something fails, tell the host — their agents can usually fix ports, restarts, and common skill issues.

Hosting again next week

Hosts clone or create a new event under Your LANs. Your Discord login stays the same; each event has its own RSVP list.
