Google Gemini

Use a Google AI Studio API key with Gemini’s OpenAI-compatible endpoint.

  • Minimum / recommended: gemini-3.6-flash

Do not set native gemini-2.5-flash or gemini-2.5-pro on this preset — they 404 for new Google AI keys. OpenRouter still serves google/gemini-2.5-flash.

Get a key

  1. Open Google AI Studio.
  2. Create an API key for your Google account / project.
  3. Copy the key for PlayOn Settings.

Connect in PlayOn

  1. Settings → In-app agents → Google Gemini.
  2. Paste the Google AI API key.
  3. Set the model to gemini-3.6-flash.
  4. Save and test tool calling in chat.

Notes

  • Base URL points at Google’s OpenAI-compatible Gemini route.
  • Use gemini-3.6-flash. Native 2.5 ids 404 for new keys.
  • Confirm your Google project allows the Generative Language API for that key.
